Ramadan and health: a scientometric analysis of health literature on Ramadan and fasting

Aim: During Ramadan month, every year, approximately two billion of Muslims practice fasting and avoid eating, drinking intercourse from dawn to dusk throughout the world. Although effects on human health were highly studied in academic literature, there are only limited number scientometric articles referring health.
 Material Method: We performed a analysis “Ramadan health” publications indexed Web Science databases between 1980 2019 found total 497 articles.
 Results: The most published documents original (88.13%). studies areas be Religion, Nutrition Endocrinology, (n=269, 214 184 items, respectively). USA was leading country with 76 items followed by Saudi Arabia, UK, Turkey Iran (n=76, 58, 55, 39 36 papers, King Saud University (Saudi Arabia) ranked first institutions 21 items. H-index literature measured as 40 citations 5837. keywords “Ramadan”, “fasting”, “diabetes”, “pregnancy”. USA, Arabia Canada collaborative countries.
 Conclusion: importance has been increasing recent years. think that this study data about which conditions religion Islam will contribute scientists.
